Segmental Scrubber Installation

During November Turbo-Technik has successfully installed 3 exhaust gas cleaning systems on board a cruise vessel during drydocking in Brest. The challenge for this project was the installation of the scrubbers in ring segments, which had to be transported through 2 cabins on deck 8.

The segments were landed on a platform adjacent to the vessel and then transported horizontally into the exhaust gas casing on specially fabricated rail bars. Here the parts were lowered into the respective position, the scrubbers were welded together and the exhaust pipes were connected.

At the same time Turbo-Technik was challenged to install further scrubbers on two other vessels in Marseille and Grand Bahama. All projects were completed to customer satisfaction, in time and in budget.
