More than 4,000 weld seams!

Turbo Technik is supplying and installing the complete piping system for the world’s largest heat pump.

Technical facts:
• Scope: approx. 4,000 weld seams
• Materials: carbon steel and stainless steel
• Pipe dimensions: Ø 15 mm to Ø 800 mm
• Steel structure (stainless steel): approx. 8 t

As part of the project, an innovative heat pump system for generating district heating water is being installed. The goal is to provide more climate-neutral heating energy by using treated wastewater as a sustainable heat source. To achieve this, four large-scale heat pumps from a renowned plant manufacturer, as well as the necessary connection systems between the heat pumps, the district heating network, and the wastewater source, are being delivered.

The project makes a significant contribution to the decarbonization of Berlin’s heat supply. By integrating large heat pumps and using treated wastewater as a heat source, a sustainable and future-oriented solution for district heating is being created.

Turbo Technik has been commissioned, in addition to procuring the steel, to install and connect the four heat pumps with a piping system. This involves pipes of various dimensions and materials.

In addition, Turbo Technik is handling all connections to the district heating pipelines, as well as the connecting lines between the heat pumps and the service units.
